I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Christian University and am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas. Additionally, I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern (LCDC-I).
I got my start in private practice working with children and their families at TrueSelf Counseling & Coaching, PLLC, gaining valuable experience and mentorship during my tenure. When the opportunity presented itself to create a “dream” office space - I decided to make the transition to small business owner and opened TenderHands Counseling, PLLC.
While I’ve focused my practice on play therapy for the past 2 years due to increased demand - I am passionate about counseling for a variety of ages and stages in life. I work with parents to provide strategies/skills and offer individual counseling to teens, young adults and adults. I am fortunate to have a diversified background. Previous experience includes over a decade as an educator in the DFW area, counseling for substance use at TCU during graduate school, and providing therapy for diverse populations/ages at FWISD’s Family Resource Center for a year during my internship. Additionally, I currently work as an assessment specialist for a local behavioral health hospital. I have training specific to Child-Centered Play Therapy from TCU and the Center for Play Therapy at the University of North Texas. I am also trained in Solution-Focused Therapy with additional training/experience utilizing Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy interventions.
I find immense joy in offering support through tough times and am dedicated to building judgment-free, positive relationships. I strive to meet my clients where they are - providing pathways for change and the skills to make it happen - through tender hands.
