Are both In-Person & Telehealth an option?
Yes, both in-person & Telehealth are options for adolescents & adults (generally age 15+ but may depend on you/your child’s developmental needs). Telehealth services are provided through my secure online portal via SimplePractice.
Services for play therapy are limited to in-person.
Do you accept insurance or offer a reduced-rate?
TenderHands Counseling, PLLC is a private-pay only provider. Insurance companies require a diagnosis regardless of age to file a claim & many insurance companies do not provide behavioral health coverage. For these reasons and because many parents want to protect their child’s behavioral health information - I operate as private pay.
A reduced rate may apply and you can request information about this prior to scheduling a session.
I accept all major Credit Cards including FSA/HSA. You will be required to place a credit card on file when you schedule your intake session.
What are your fees?
Initial Intake Session: $150
Individual Counseling Sessions: $125
What is your general cancellation policy?
I require 24 notice if you are unable to attend a session to avoid a “late cancellation” charge for the full session fee. Please cancel by phone or email.
What is the "Good Faith Estimate"?
Under the new Public Health Service Act Section 2799B-6, health care providers and facilities are required to inform individuals who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the bill for medical services known as a Good Faith Estimate.
You have the right to request the GFE for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
You are entitled to a GFE within 1 business day before your medical service is provided.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you may dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your rights to a GFE, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800)368-1019
